What a week!! Last Tuesday, we had a great crowd at the Lyme Tavern to paint Sunflowers, a perennial favorite (pun intended)! It's so interesting to see the transformation from beginning to end. I see a lot of skepticism in the faces of our virgin painters, with a little continued doubt as the painting progresses, but as soon as it all starts to come together, with some "ooohs" and "aahhs" along the way, everyone seems to LOVE their paintings! Especially, the sunflower! In the end, everyone proudly displays their painting for a group photo! I love it!!
On Wednesday, my good friend, Kym C., hosted a good-sized party with all my former co-workers. It was a blast!!! And so good to see everyone. I think just about everyone had fun. We painted a new painting, requested by Kym, of Tulips. I loved the subtle differences in everyones paintings. Some had green backgrounds, some had orange petals, and some were different sizes. The wine flowed and the snacks were plentiful. Good times!!
To end the week, we had a booth at "Celebrate East Lyme". Jim (the hubby) cleverly built a "Color Wheel of Fortune" so that we could have some interactive fun! I made up $5 and $10 "Brush Bucks" that people could spin to win, if they signed up for our mailing list. We got lots of good feedback, and I nearly got rid of all my business cards! Thank you to all who came out! It was fun!!
